DOOR-TO-DOOR
SOLICITATIONS:
Spotsylvania County requires solicitors to duly
obtain proper permits before conducting door-to-door
solicitations anywhere in the county. Hence,
solicitors must show the Permit (or a bona fide
copy thereof) upon request by anyone being solicited.
Solicitors
have been known to be dropped off at various locations
within our subdivision, and were unable to show
the required permits. In light of a recent
rash of solicitation scams, we highly recommend
that you consider the option of telling "un-permitted"
solicitors to leave your property. If you
incur resistance or any type of negative interaction
with them, immediately contact the Sheriff's Office.
You may dial (540) 582-7115 for non-emergency
cases; or, dial 9-1-1 for emergency cases.
A good description of individual(s) and/or vehicle(s)
may be helpful in permanently resolving issues against
un-permitted solicitations in our community.
HANDOUTS:
It is also illegal to distribute handouts and place
them in the mailboxes. You may take any handout(s)
and submit a complaint to the post office who will
subsequently contact the person or company responsible
for the alleged handout(s).
We
shall always strive to maintain Holleybrooke Subdivision
a safe and better place to live. We urge you
to consider joining any of our committees, or simply
share your ideas or services with us. By working
together, we can make a difference in the improvements
of our community.
Thank
you for your support.
